This week we will be completing the state writing assessment and starting Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman.

Schedule:

Monday: Finish writing assessment in Lab D, read independent books
Tuesday: Background notes for Death of a Salesman, choose parts
Wednesday: Read and discuss Act I (pp. 1-23)
Thursday: Read and discuss Act I (pp. 1-23)
Friday: Independent Reading Day, finish Act I assignment

This week we will be completing the state writing assessment.

Monday: NO SCHOOL!  :)

Tuesday: Choose prompt and complete prewriting
Wednesday: Write out a rough draft on paper
Thursday: Type final draft
Friday: Type final draft

Monday the 28th will be a make-up/reading day, so bring your books!

Tuesday: Type urban legends in the computer lab
Wednesday: Type urban legends in the computer lab
Thursday: Persuasion technique and writing review
Friday: *Urban legend writing assignment due*
Independent reading day; enrichment

Week of 7 January to 11 January


Welcome, English 11 students!

This week we will be learning about American folklore and urban legends and practicing persuasive techniques.

Schedule:

Monday:  Go over syllabus, write biopoem and present to class
Tuesday: Finish presentations, American folklore PowerPoint and notes
Wednesday: Urban Legends PowerPoint
Thursday: Persuasion Activity (war department)
Friday: Introduction to 3rd quarter reading project, book talk in library, choose novel, read for 20 minutes

Upcoming Due Dates:
1. Folder with dividers and notebook paper are due on the shelf by 14 January (Monday)
2. Urban Legend writing assignment will be due 18 January (Friday)
